Become a Female Chimpanzee

Travel to Food

You gather your children together by giving signals that you are leaving. The two smaller ones climb up on your back and the older one trails behind. Chimpanzee mothers can carry their children on their back (dorsal travel) or the young can hold on to the mother's chest as they walk (ventral travel).

You have to travel several valleys over to find food. Near a large tree you find a ant hill but down in the valley you notice a large termite mound. Which would you like to eat, termites or ants?
