Termite FishingThe Gombe chimpanzees use long flexible strips of bark, twig or grass to fish for termites. They insert the tool into a hole in the termite mound, the soldier termites bite the stem and the chimpanzee withdraws the tool slowly and eats the termites off the stem. termite fishing All illustrations for Behavior Glossary © David Bygott.
